Dew resistant overlay
Studies have shown that dew can temporarily reduce the retroreflective performance of road signs by up to 87%. Avery Dennison OL-1200 is a premium clear protective overlay film, engineered with a special coating to prevent the formation of water droplets on the surface of finished signs. It is designed to provide additional protection for signs used in high humidity environments and temperatures just above freezing. In addition to its dew resistant properties, OL-1200 offers UV protection to extend the life and performance of traffic signs.
Historically, the use of dew resistant overlay films reduced the warranted lifespan of a traffic sign. However, following extensive research and development, Avery Dennison created OL-1200, delivering dew resistant performance for up to 10 years – matching the warranted lifespan of many reflective materials.
